This is my original crochet pattern for a rectangular super-fine lace shawl. It is very delicate and worked in lace-weight yarn with a 3.00mm hook and a simple stitch pattern. One half is worked first, followed by the joining zig-zag and the second half of the shawl. I’ve labelled it as requiring intermediate level crochet skills.

When I first held it up I thought it looked like two wings, hence the name. It makes a lovely treat for yourself or a beautiful and thoughtful gift for someone special.

You could easily scale it up with heavier yarn and a bigger hook to make a bulkier, thicker shawl/scarf for winter. I have developed a version for 4-ply (fingering) called Flight of Fancy

This pattern has two versions one with Australian/UK terminology and one with US terminology.
