This hat features twisted stitches and alternates a simple rib with cables. It’s quite quick to knit as it uses chunky yarn.

Materials
40 - 100m Chunky yarn
6mm (UK 4 / US 10) double pointed or circular needles
5mm (UK 6 / US 8) double pointed or circular needles
1 or 2 cable needles (2nd cable needle is optional as there are two ways of knitting the cables which give the same result, instructions are given for both ways so knitters can do whichever they are most comfortable with)
Stitch marker to mark the beginning of round

Tension
14 stitches and 20 rows of the main pattern should measure 10cm / 4” square. If this is larger use smaller needles, or if it is smaller, use larger needles
