This set includes patterns for all 5 ornaments in my Winter Wardrobe pattern collection: Mini Granny Hat, Mini Sweater, Mini Mitten, Mini Stocking, and the Petite Snowflake. These adorable little ornaments are all around 3” high and require very little yarn—the largest uses less than 17 yards of worsted weight. (Great for using up leftovers!) They’re perfect for hanging on the tree, stringing on garland, adorning a wreath, or using as charming gift toppers!

I often prefer acrylic yarn for items like this, as it won’t attract insects in storage and tends to make a sturdier piece. But there is no reason you couldn’t use a blend or a lovely natural fiber to create a special, heirloom-quality gift. There are a few notes about size and tension in the patterns, but in general, gauge is not really important here. After all, ornaments come in many sizes. While I recommend a heavier worsted weight yarn, experimenting with different yarn and hook sizes can yield a range of beautiful results.
