Winter Wonderland Stripes
This basic sock pattern is perfect for Bellica Yarns “Winter Stripes” self-striping yarn, and “Silver Frost” contrasting mini skein. The simple knit stitch, makes the socks quick to work up, and lets the self-striping yarn sing, and the contrasting colour of the heel toe and cuff make the colours of the stripes pop.
The instructions are for a forethought heel, this sounds daunting, but is essentially just another toe for the heel, and its place marked using waste yarn, ready for picking up later. This heel keeps the thickness of the stripes the same, as there is no increases in the number of stitches.
Designed for use with a mini circular needle, this pattern can be easily followed by someone using DPN’s or Magic loop.
Easy enough for a beginner, but suitable for an advanced socker also.
There are three adult size options, small, medium and large.
The pattern calls for a self-striping yarn and a contrasting colour, but you could just as easily use the self-striping yarn.
