A certain eye-catcher for the winter, this stunning fur-trimmed gilet will keep you warm and cosy during those crisp colder days.

The construction is intriguing too with the main part of the body knitted in easy-to-knit garter stitch chevron strips (not stripes) and joined together making the most of this fabulous space-dyed yarn.

The fake fur trim accentuates the construction to great effect lending a luxurious feel to this great addition to your winter wardrobe.

Going away for the weekend and want to take a bit of knitting in the event of some peaceful downtime ?

A ball of yarn and a couple of short, double point needles will fit easily inside your overnight bag without taking up too much room at all. And you could well come home with a couple more strips towards the finished project. In other words no need to haul that ever-growing knitting bag around.
The garter stitch strips are all joined together, on the right side, by crochet, using the fake fur yarn. This clever join enables the garter stitch edges to “butt up” therefore eliminating any bulky seams.
