Needles: 5mm circular needles, 16 inch / 40 cm
Tension: 21 sts x 22 rounds = 4 x 4 inches / 10 x 10 cm in stranded stockinette on 5mm needles, after blocking
Yarn: Sample knitted in Ístex Léttlopi. Any Aran weight yarn with good stitch definition works beautifully

DK version
Size: One size: 23 inches / 58.5 cm circumference, 7.75 inches / 19.5 cm high
Needles: 4mm circular needles, 24 inch / 60 cm
Tension: 23 sts x 27 rounds = 4 x 4 inches / 10 x 10 cm in stranded stockinette on 4mm needles, after blocking
Yarn: Sample knitted in DROPS Karisma. Any DK weight yarn with good stitch definition works beautifully

Notes

For yarn substitutions, look for a wool or wool-blend with good stitch definition at the weight you’re knitting. It gives the cleanest results in the colorwork section.
