Introduction:
The wrap top is worked from the top down. First, the back piece is worked flat, with increases to shape the armholes. The stitches are then placed on hold while stitches are picked up along the cast-on edge to work the two front pieces. Each front piece begins with German short rows to shape the shoulders, followed by increases for both the neckline and the armholes. Next, the back piece and the two front pieces are joined at the underarms, and increases continue at the front to create the overlapping wrap front. Now, the front pieces are placed on top of each other and joined at the bust, allowing the rest of the body to be worked in the round. Finally, stitches are picked up around the armholes, and the sleeves are shaped with German short rows before being finished in the round.
The pattern includes descriptions and video links demonstrating all the techniques used.
