Wrentit Throw Mosaic Crochet Pattern

Wrentit is a cartoonish winter scene crocheted using the overlay mosaic technique. It was designed using Lion Brand Pound of Love in five colours. There are mid-row colour changes but no diagonal/slanted stitches. It can have a fringe on the vertical sides, or the ends can be enclosed with an envelope border. The finished project with the border pictured is 36” wide by 55” long. Pattern made with StitchFiddle software.

Materials:
5 mm hook
Lion Brand POL in White, Cascade, Olive, Elephant, Sugar Cookie
Finishing needle
6.5 mm hook (optional, for envelope border only)

Stitches (American terminology):
FSC foundation single (optional, can substitute a simple starting chain)
Ch chain
BLSC back loop single crochet
FLDC front loop double crochet

Optional Envelope Border:
SS surface slip stitch
SC single crochet

Yarn Quantities:

Colour : Body : Border : Total (g)

White : 420 : 0 : 420
Cascade : 155 : 0 : 155
Olive : 215 : 115 : 330
Elephant : 125 : 215: 240
Sugar Cookie : 35 : 0 : 35

Chart and written instructions are included. Pattern is worked right to left facing RS, tying off and cutting the yarn at the end of each row. Even rows are all white. Odd rows, SC are the main colour of that row. Brown and Green BLSC will be specified. If it does not say green or brown, that means the green/brown section is over and to go back to the snow/sky colour.

The written instructions do not always indicate colour. Even rows are always all white. Odd rows, green and brown are always indicated, but the main colour of the row may not be. It should be fairy easy to tell if you are working on snow (light grey) or sky (blue).
