This is a pattern for a true alpine cabled shawl (as opposed to Aran cabling, which is the more familiar way of cabling). The knit stitches are knit primarily through the back loop, and although the shawl s not reversible, it is cabled on both sides. The combination of the Alpine cables makes for an usual and beautiful shawl.

Skill Level: Intermediate - Intermediate + (assuming a good working knowledge of knitting, purling and a very good knowledge of cabling)

The pattern is charted only. There are also instructions for an optional crocheted border, should you like on.This is the ONLY crochet in the pattern, the optional edging.

The shawl was expertly test knitted by Debby Rennert, who can be reached at: Medebby1 @gmail.com. and was knit using Malabrigo’s Rios yarn in natural and requires approximately 1100 yards to make the shawl that is shown in the pictures, which is 16 inches X 74 inches

The pattern is for sale here on Ravelry and in my Etsy Shop in the Int - Advanced Shawl Section (https://www.etsy.com/shop/WearableArtEmporium?section_id=...)
