Zinz-hat is worked in the round from the brim up.

You can adjust the length by adding more pattern repeats for longer, more sloughy hat. You can block the hat moderately or aggressively and so change the appearance from more close fitting to looser beanie.

Sizes

S, M, L - to fit head size 50-52, 54-56, 58-60 cm (20, 22, 24 inches).

Finished measurements

Brim finished circumference non stretched 37.5, 41.25, 45 cm/ 14 ¾, 16 ¼, 17 ¾ inches.
Height approximately 17.5, 20.5, 20.5 cm/ 7, 8, 8 inches.

Yarn

Fingering weight (384-400 m/ 419.9-437.4 yds per 100 g) yarn in two colours, 40-50 g of MC and 20-30 g of CC.

The sample hat was knitted with madelinetosh Merino Light, 100% Merino, 384 m/ 419.9 yds per 100 g in colourway Blouse (CC) and madelinetosh Twist Light, 75% Merino, 25% Nylon, 384 m/ 419.9 yds per 100 g in colourway Ooak (MC) and used
30 g of MC and 16 g of CC.

If you want to use multiple leftovers, one MC stripe uses approximately 6-8 g and one CC stripe 2-3 g.

Needles & notions

2.75 mm/ US 2 and 3.25 mm/ US 3 (80 cm/ 32 inches or longer for magic loop) circular needle, or set of four DPNs.
