Welcome to your next cosy knitting adventure: a matching cabled headband and handwarmer set that’s equal parts practical and beautiful. Designed to keep you warm without the bulk, this duo is perfect for everyday wear—whether you’re out and about or just need a little extra comfort on chilly days.

These patterns were originally created for our in-person Introduction to Cable Knitting course, and they’ve already been tried, tested, and loved by our wonderful community of knitters. To make this release extra special, we’ve included the full lesson plan from our two-session course, along with a little homework to keep your needles moving between meet-ups.

The cables are rhythmic and satisfying to knit, creating a rich, textured fabric that looks impressive while still being approachable. Both pieces are designed with comfort in mind—the headband keeping ears snug, and the handwarmers offering warmth with freedom to move.

All of our knitters successfully completed both the headband and handwarmers using 100g of Cascade 128 Superwash Chunky yarn. We did provide an additional 10g to allow for looser gauge or larger head sizes, so you’ve got a little flexibility to make them truly your own.
