3rd Owl Obsession blanket this year! Love the “Eddington Ridge” print yarn for the circle motifs paired with pastel pinks.

Used techniques from my other blankets, especially assembling in “strips” to make it easier to add beaks and eyes and then to “zip” a seam all the way down. Left about 36” of a tail when finishing each motif and used it to piece together each strip. ‘Flat Zipper’ join. Used my own half-hexagon motif to fill in near border which uses similar stitches as the center of the motifs, rather than the open work of the motifs from the pattern.

Did 1 round of SC in BLO to give a nice even edge across all of the motifs, then 2 rounds of SC with “Rosy Cheeks” to give a colorful “frame”, then 2 rounds of SC in Ivory and then the wave border.

Finished size 34” x 34” with border.

Mailed it off to CA (during 118* heatwave) and the mama called me right away to say how much she loved it and sent me a pic of baby with blanket <3
