Notes

This is the first design project combining TURTLE hexagon pin loom weaving with “another craft”, crocheting. There are so many crocheted hexagon patterns that the choice was easy.

The woven hexagons for this shawl were made using the original TURTLE Loom.

I chose a traditional hexagon motif to crochet, with a lacy effect, to complement the playful fabric that results from weaving the LANG Mille Colori.

The project was a lot of fun to make: The LANG Mille Colori color effects make each hexagon unique and I could hardly wait what each motif would look like. The Cheshire Cat has such a lovely hand to it that the hexagons just flew off the hook.

More ideas for this shawl pattern:

  • Use one or multiple different crochet patterns for the hexagon motifs.
  • Make a “crazy” patchwork shawl, using up small amounts of yarns and weave or crochet, whatever works best.
