I was digging through a stitch dictionary and saw the primrose stitch, which looks like a dino alphabet foot from Dinotopia, thought “hmm!”. I wanted to set up a piece like two dinos in the ferns looking at each other, and I wanted one much bigger than the other.

I came up with this swatch/stitch while trying to find a good “eyeball” stitch for my next pattern. I wanted only one eyeball per repeat because I didn’t want my piece to be that populated, I kind of only wanted ONE monster in the entire wrap if I’m being honest.

The center lace panel is something I originated based off a more common stitch I like to use a lot, I have no idea what its real name is but I got it from a sock pattern and I stick with it because it’s easy and looks hard.
