Fuyu Hana is Japanese and means winter flowers. I named the sweater Fuyu Hana partly because of the color, and partly because the pattern resembles small flowers.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This hat is knitted in the round, bottom up. It has facing on the inside of the bottom part, to keep you warm around the ears. The facing is knitted in ribbing to give elasticity.
Knitting: Pullover
I found the inspiration for The Shippo Tsunagi sweater and a top in the same pattern in a traditional Japanese sashiko pattern. Sashiko means «small stabs», and is an embroidery technique originally used for reinforcement of garments in areas of rough use. The particular pattern I used as basis for the lace and cable pattern in the top, is call...

Knitting: Sleeveless Top
This cropped top is named Nichi, the Japanese word for sun. The top is very simple, but still has some fine details, such as ribbing with twisted sts. The decreases on the front pieces flows naturally together with the i-cords that are tied in the neck.
Knitting: Sleeveless Top
Ningyo is ispired by the Japanese equvivalent of mermaids. The Ningyo had bodies like a fish and faces like monkeys or humans, but they were not as pretty as the European mermaids. They were described as ugly-pretty with pleasant voices. If you ate the meat from a Ningyo you would have longevity, but at the same time you would be prone to diffi...
Knitting: Tee
This top is very simple, but still has some fine details. I gave it the name, Northern Lights, because the colors reminds me of the northern lights, and since it is partially knitted on a trip north of the Polar Circle.
Knitting: Tee
This yarn in this top is a mix of wool and linen. Even if it has short sleeves, it gives a lot of warmth, and therefore will suit a Norwegian summer night very well.
Knitting: Pullover
I found the inspiration for this top in a traditional Japanese sashiko pattern. Sashiko means «small stabs», and is an embroidery technique originally used for reinforcement of garments in areas of rough use. The particular pattern I used as basis for the lace and cable pattern in the top, is called 七宝, pronounced Shippo Tsunagi, and the meanin...
Knitting: Cardigan
I found the inspiration for this cardigan in Morrocan ceramic tiles. But the yarn and the way to do the decreases on the yoke are Scottish. I have therefore called it Marrakech meets Lerwick cardigan.

Knitting: Cardigan
This cardigan is made bottom up. The sleeves are knitted together with the body first with raglan and on the top the decreases are done within the pattern. A fast and pretty easy project, even if it seems complicated in the top of the yoke.

Knitting: Sleeveless Top
This silk top has a very simple design with a scooped neckline and fitted waist. The hem has a facing, and along the armholes there are selvedge stitches so that it doesn’t roll. Depending on your choice of technique and how wide you want the neckline to be, you can choose to crochet one row of chain stitches along the neckline.

Knitting: Dress
The dress is a very simple dress, knit top down. The yoke and sleeves are knit in one piece (contiguous). It is fitted in the waist, but otherwise it is a straight dress. The ribbing has a little bit of texture because of the twisted stitches. It can be made shorter (as a tunic or sweater) and with longer sleeves (there are simple instructions ...

Knitting: Cowl
This pattern is supposed to look random, but is quite thoroghly planned to avoid the constant counting of stitches that is necessary if you knit a totally random pattern. I used scrap yarn, 80 g of Kauni variegating yarn.
Knitting: Scarf
The scarf can be made in every width or length you like, depending on how much yarn you have and your own wishes. The measurements in the pattern are 22 cm width and 100 cm length (50 cm when assembled). It is possible to make the scarf in all kinds of materials. The scarf has garter st edgings, but if you want it more open, make it with double...
