Maine Squeeze is the “knit at any gauge” shawl pattern of my dreams. As a handspinner, I’m always searching for the “perfect pattern” to match the yardage and weight of my hand spun yarn. So I created a pattern that would work for any skein in my stash or yours!

Construction

Inspired by classic fisherman’s sweaters, Fir & Flannel is an all over cabled beanie knit with DK weight yarn. Named for two of my cozy winter faves - Frasier Fir scented anything and soft flannel button downs, this hat is ready to hop on your needles. 

Aftersome is an asymmetrical triangular shawl, knit from side to side with four colors of DK weight yarn. If you’d like to pair some DK and some fingering weight skeins from your stash, this is the perfect project to combine them!

Austice is named for a moment that knitters everywhere know well: “a wistful omen of the first sign of autumn - a subtle coolness in the shadows, a rustling of dead leaves abandoned on the sidewalk, or a long skein of geese sweeping over your head like the second hand of a clock.”

A deliciously warm cowl is so desirable when the cold winds blow to fill in the neckline of a coat or pull up over one’s ears. One like this, with deep, squishy texture will bring on the smiles—with so little difficulty on the knitter’s part that one could feel guilty … almost.

Envelop is an infinity cowl, knit in a tube and seamed with a twist. This double thickness fabric is so luxurious and is sure to keep the cold away. Slipped stitches in fluffy yarn create plump texture and are intuitive to work, making this a great travel knit or “knitflix” project.

Windover is a classic triangular shawl featuring modern clean lines, knit from the top down. Inspired by my love for small batch locally produced yarn, Windover is named for the farm where Clare Harrison raises her flock of Wensleydale sheep and operates her mill about thirty minutes from me.

Knit with fingering weight yarn, Arising features a garter stitch body embellished with rays of slipped stitches. The delicate brioche that follows is reminiscent of tiny buds, reaching up for the first warm days of Spring. A garter stitch border adorned with petite bobbles creates a tidy edge.
