Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
The sock are knitted flat on a circular needle. You start at the sole and work back and forth in a U-shape. They can be knitted from scrap yarn, self-striping yarn or in solid color.

The heel is worked from a provisional cast-on at the heel circumference and the socks are knitted in two directions.
