Slowly, magically flakes of winter’s first snow drift down from the clouds above and you are filled with wonder as this mystical season begins.

As you walk beneath the trees along the edge of the creek, the cool mountain breeze gently surrounds you. The leaves still clinging to the branches rustle musically above you while the fallen leaves crunch beneath your boots. Peace fills you while the music of autumn surrounds and inspires you.

As you travel across the country side the mountains seem as though they go on forever. When the summit is finally reached and you gaze out across the wilderness, there across a valley reaching for the sky is another mountain range. This hat is named after one of the many mountain ranges in the state of Nevada.

The snow is finally starting to melt in the mountains, the forests are turning green and wild flowers are popping up around the forest. As you walk through this magic place the air is cool but the sun warms your face and tiny butterflies flutter around you. These are the first signs of spring.

The sun warms the cool desert morning and glistens on the leaves of the sagebrush that surround you as you walk quietly under the watchful eye of the mountains. The mountains surround the valley of sagebrush in a wall of protection and you know you are safe at home.

The snow is finally starting to melt in the mountains, the forests are turning green and wild flowers are popping up around the forest. As you walk through this magic place the air is cool but the sun warms your skin and tiny butterflies flutter around you. These are the first signs of spring.

The cowl starts as a classic top down triangular shawl with a garter tab. When the desired width of the cowl is reached, the stitches are joined and worked in the round until the desired height of the cowl is reached. It is then worked flat again, decreasing until just a few stitches are left.

This pattern was inspired by patterns of nature in winter time. The snowflakes that become intertwined and blanket the landscape. The petals of Poinsettias at Christmas time. The bright splashes of color from flowers given to loved ones on Valentines day.

This hat is named after the asteroid with the same name “Ryugu”. Ryugu is a diamond shaped asteroid of the Apollo Asteroid group. I was struggling to come up with an name for this hat since I knit my first version of it. I happened to be working on my second version of this hat while helping my daughter study for a test on asteroids and comets ...

The wind sweeps through the valley and races down the sides of the mountains bringing with it the snows of winter. As I walk through the valley my eyes can’t help but be drawn upwards to where the mountain peaks meet the sky.

Fat snowflakes fall slowly towards the ground. The air is fresh with the scent of the first winter snow and the peaceful pines surround you. As you walk silently through the forest the trees catch the flakes as they fall from the clouds and you are transported back to memories of your childhood.

This sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down. It features a fun and beautiful lace and cable panel down the front of the sweater. The pattern includes both a chart and written directions for the front panel.
