This adorable fox has been a hit with everyone who sees him and is a lot of fun to knit.

Two sets of instructions are provided: work the body and head in the round and sew on the white patches at the end if you prefer a simpler knit, or, choose intarsia in the round for a more challenging knit that reduces finishing.

This pattern would suit intermediate knitters and is a perfect opportunity to learn some new skills. Techniques used include the (optional) intarsia in the round (fully explained in the pattern), short rows, knitted rag doll joints and the Turkish cast on. Links to useful tutorials are provided for each technique.

The sample is shown in Dream in Color Perfectly Posh Single Ply (70% Wool, 10% Mohair, 10% Silk, 10% Cashmere 360 yards/100 grams per ball) 16mm safety eyes and about 120g of wool stuffing.

The sample was constructed using Intarsia in the round and knitting ears, legs and tail on.

Yardage for the sample is: 150 yards orange, 40 yards white, 60 yards black.
