The Inis Mór Toque (pronounced “inish-more”) is the sister pattern to the Inis Mór Shawl and part of the CableStar Volume 1: Galway Bay collection. You can purchase the eBook containing 6 patterns and 19 tutorials, or the pattern individually.

It was named after the largest of the Aran Islands, and features a big bold cable, flanked with braids and texture.

The toque is knit seamlessly - first you work the main body in the round from the bottom up. Then using a join technique you knit the brim onto the main body, creating a continuous cable that’s perpendicular to the main body of the toque.

The eBook contains instructions on working this join, and the eBook contains photo tutorials.

Available in six sizes (two child and four teen/adult), this toque is meant to be knit with approximately 2-3” of negative ease.
