I’ve been a crocheter since about 6 years old and a knitter since about 19. I spin a little, weave a little, knit a lot, and crochet more. While designing I want to push the boundaries of the craft, but also maintain a personal connection to creating these handmade items.
The main goal of my knitting is simple and what I think most history lovers strive for, to learn from the past through the preservation, restoration, and presentation. I preserve the integrity of the craft, restore it to modern use, and present it in an artistic and honorary way.
Beyond that I want to show how diverse peoples, having different and sometimes conflicting ambitions, are evolving into a society that values liberty and equality. We cherish these values as a birthright, even when their promise remains unfulfilled.
As for crochet, my goal is different but along the same lines. I have a goal to change the way crochet is seen. I want to show its true potential as an art form. Not as a second class citizen but as a viable, beautiful, functional, and fun method of creativity.
I have written a few books and design a lot for magazines around the world. You can see most of those below. If you’d like to see what items are for purchase (some of the magazine designs are not mine to sell) click on the PATTERN STORE tab above and it will take you right there.
You can find me on the following social media:
If you’d like me to come to teach at your local guild or shop please send me a message and I will get right back to you. I usually check messages within a day or two.
Happy knitting and crocheting y’all!
