Diana Bensted
Hi, My name is Diana,
I am passionate about crochet, and consider myself to be a crochet ambassador, I design crochet patterns, teach and blog about crochet.
I also offer my own classes, Absolute Beginners - learn to crochet has been really popular, as has the Next steps in Crochet, I offer many techniques including Tunisian, tapestry and broomstick crochet, and have created several different Christmas courses. I teach workshops at Knitting and Stitching shows, Ally Pally and Olympia, also residential courses at Missenden Abbey. I also offer learn to knit and sock knitting.
You can find my blog with inspiration, tutorials, patterns and much more by clicking on the link above.
I belong to 3 groups that crochet or knit, two are follow ons from the shop groups and are on Monday evening from 7pm at the Angel pub in Waltham Abbey, Friday afternoon from 1.30pm at Sir Maxima’s coffee shop, and also on Friday from 10.30 at Love13 in Bush Hill Park, come over and chat if you are in the area!
I live with my husband and son. I am a Christian, currently with a Baptist/URC church, and am in Grapevine - the band/choir, and webmaster. I was a primary school teacher, and specialised in teaching children with speech and language difficulties (sometimes linked with autism/asperger’s) and owned my own wool shop for 4 years, unfortunately I came under some difficulties with the bigger online stores, so had to close the physical shop. However, I now design for Women’s Weekly, Inside Crochet and DMC, as well as self publishing, I have a blog and I teach Crochet in lots of different places.
I look forward to your comments!
