Out of print. This pattern was available for £5.00.

A flexible beanie pattern that can be used for any age and in any yarn thickness. Includes a simple stitch, and a small amount of shaping.

Sizing is in photos but this can be adapted for very small preemie hats (best in 4ply or Double Knitting) all the way up to adult (chunky is a quick and easy make)

You follow the pattern for 3 sectionsdepending on yarn and size. Section 1 is increasing, where you stop on the row that is slightly smaller than the crown of the head, go on to section 2 with no increases this is where it can also be made into a slouchy form by working more rows. the last section is a backloop dc rib, worked away from the edge (uk terms)

For materials you should need no more that 100g of chunky yarn (do watch the meterage though) for an adult hat

These are some examples of sizing:

4ply Adult hat - 40g Stylecraft Head Over Heels 400m/100g

DK slouchy Adult hat - Hand dyed yarn. approx 90g

Chunky Adult hat - 65g Stylecraft Merry Go Round 68m/100g, Or 100g Stylecraft That colour vibe 80m/100g

Plain DK baby hat - 25g Stylecraft special DK 295m/100g

Multicoloured DK baby hat - 15g Stylecraft Wondersoft Merry Go Round DK 294m/100g

Use a crochet hook relevant to the thickness of your yarn. I used 3.5mm for 4ply, 4.5mm for DK, and 6.5mm for Chunky
