In order to occupy me while living in an Italian village sans TV, my mom taught me to crochet.
I was 3. It was another 25 yrs before I was able to knit.
I taught myself to knit in 2004 because I wanted to make socks. Since then I have added spinning and weaving to my fiber addiction. In order to get more knitting time, I taught my kids to knit and wound up teaching knitting at an LYS a few yrs ago.
I know have a real book! Allison Sarnoff and I created: Unobtainables:Fake elements Real knits. It is available in bookstores, at Amazon, and on Ravelry. You can read about it here:
