Stranded and double knitting are my usual go-to techniques when I want to use multiple colours to bring a motif into knitting; but they’re by no means the only methods to do so! These designs use colour in different ways, such as double knitting - which gives you a reversible fabric; mosaic - which is a great way for beginners to get started with colourwork; and intarsia - which I’ve found doesn’t have to be a pain to execute if you manage your bobbins well.
