English roses and ivy meander around the crown of Sheila Joynes’s chic topper. Stitched in the round from the corrugated rib band up, this is a terrific first stranded project for an otherwise experienced knitter.

2 hanks each in #675 Navy and #613 Blueberry
1 hank each in #272 Wine, #574 Ivy, #757 Twilight, #913 Granite

The yarn used in this design has been discontinued, but there are many good substitutes. Check out the different projects for other yarn choices.

This design is a Slouch hat and not

designed to fit as a beanie. If it is
knit to gauge the measurements are 20 1/2 inches at brim and 11 1/2 inches in length. I highly recommend checking gauge and using a sport or dk weight yarn, if you want it fit like it does on the model. Many people are stating it is big, but myself as well as test knitters have knit it to gauge without any problems and it turned out as it is designed to fit. Some knitters have achieved gauge using fingering weight with great success.

Thanks,
Sheila
