“Fairy Mannequin” 12-18 month size crochet Mannequin
PDF FILES: your device must have ability to utilize PDF files.

Patterns are worked in the round. The mannequin is created in two parts: the torso and a bottom section which is sewn on with yarn after stuffed.

YOU MUST USE FIRM COARSE DRY FIBERFILL TO STUFF WITH TO ACHIEVE BEST RESULTS. LIGHT FLUFFY TYPE WILL NOT ACHIEVE A MANNEQUIN HEAD THAT WILL BE STURDY AND STABLE ENOUGH. I USE FAIRFIELD CRAFTERS CHOICE THAT SAYS IT IS A COURSE DRY FIBERFILL (Morning Glory Premium Polyester Fiberfil works great too).<<<<<<<<<<<

Crochet pattern to create a really cute 12-18 month size dress form (its one pattern in the size of 12-18 months). In the pictures you can see a cute pedestal it’s sitting on: this is just a candle holder I found online at a craft store! :) It’s a great and easy way to display your mannequin.

I provide tips/option in pattern to attach your own mannequin stand/pedestal candle holder.

Completed size of 12-18 mo. Mannequin should be within range of: 21” around shoulders, 19” around torso, and about 12” from bottom of neck to end of torso.

MATERIALS NEEDED: Crochet hook in size E or hook to obtain the correct gauge. About 360 yards of #18 Nylon thread (has to be #18 size): there is a great array of colors online. You can find it in white, off white, taupe, or even gray. Or you can use the Sport Weight BABY yarn.

You need about 20 oz or so of the FIRM and COURSE DRY fiberfill (I find that Fairfield Crafters Choice ( the kind that specifies it dry, course and “packs tightly”) OR Morning Glory Premium Fiberfill works really well works)-the light super fluffy silky type wont pack in tight enough or firm enough to give you the intended result.

You will need a yarn needle, and a stitch marker.

Difficulty level: Easy. (does take some time to complete, as any crochet project will take time and effort).

You need to know basic crochet stitches: single crochet, decrease, and increase stitches. Pattern is worked in the round and a stitch marker must be used.

Your finished mannequin should accommodate a 12 month size garment or up to a size 18 month garment.

***Measurements of babies vary widely even when in same age group; size estimates are ‘estimates’ only, and my age labels are based on general averages/estimates of babies measurements, along with fittings of particular baby garments. Baby garments also vary widely in measurements even when labeled as “12 mo” or “18 mo”, etc. Use the size mannequin for your particular garment’s measurements that work best for you.*** I offer smaller or larger patterns in my shop.

I have made this and found that the mannequin with the measurements specified did accommodate a brand name dress in 12 mo size and a dress in 18 month size. Please keep in mind garment measurements can vary from brand to brand.

*** Each of my baby size/toddler size mannequin dress form patterns in the various sizes are unique adaptations of my original newborn size pattern; a size change required unique changes to the pattern that required a separate pattern for the larger sizes in order to keep the patterns simple to read and follow; otherwise there would be way too many notations and number-round changes within the pattern ** <<<
