To change mitten size, adjust yarn weight and needle size.

This began as a fairly standard 25-row Fair Isle pattern. I centered the pattern vertically between half patterns because of the tip shaping, then I changed the corner pattern into a connecting line. The pattern, as it worked up, looked uninteresting to me, so I added Palestrina knots with duplicate stitch. The finished mitten back, compared to the palm side, demonstrates what a difference a little embroidery can make.
