I loved playing with moebius strips made of newspaper as a child and I’d been wondering how to apply those concepts to knitting. This was the first result. You knit a strip, sew it into moebius loop then cut down the middle. I added a couple of reversible cables - why not? - but really it’s just a very simple idea. The steek is done by dropping stitches and tying them into a fringe. You could do a proper steek instead but the fringe allowed it to be reversible.

You have the option of putting a 360 degree twist in, this gives you two interconnecting loops, or a 180 degree twist that gives you one long loop.

Yes, you could just make two strips and then sew them together - but where would be the fun in that?!

The second iteration of this idea is done in the round, and called ‘Another Very Silly Idea’.
