Beginning at the cuff, these stripes get progressively thinner towards the fingers. The increasing pace of color changes gives the impression of gathering speed—you’ll be done in no time! For a solid-colored pair, just ignore any reference to MC and CC. Simple!

Our pattern also includes great tips on how to reduce the ‘jog’ in the change between stripe colors knit in the round.

This is the free pattern in our Winter 2014 newsletter. (We’ve also made it available as a separate free download on our website.) Our 16-page seasonal newsletter is published five times a year and always contains a free pattern, timeless tips and articles, as well as some more timely product and class information. Sign up on our mailing list and we’ll notify you when the next issue is ready to download, or choose “send paper newsletter” on your profile to receive a copy in your mailbox—we’re happy to mail it to you!

Note: the top photos show the gloves knit in Regia 4-ply, the new yarn we recommend for this pattern. The yarn in the last photo (Regia Angora Merino) is being discontinued.
