Do the math! It’s fun.

Erika Knight’s British Blue Wool comes in sweet little 25g balls. That means we can use lots of colors in a small project and not end up with a bunch of leftovers. We created this muffler in one by one ribbing for total reversibility, alternating two row stripes.

We created shifting blocks of five different color pairings, keeping one of the colors constant over two blocks and carrying the color not in use up the side. That means there are only two ends of each color to weave in (except for color A which begins and ends the scarf)— stripes without the fuss!!

We had such fun creating five-color combinations from Erika’s palette of 10 subtle shades (including a few handsome combos for him). The free pattern in our little kit includes suggested sequences but you can play a little. If you want to create your own five-color mix (or perhaps a double-length ten-color version?), go to Erika Knight British Blue Wool.
