This pattern was originally designed as a gift for a friend. Playing off the joke that asexual folks would rather have sex than cake, the pattern is a layer cake where the layers are the stripes of the asexual pride flag. The cake has frosting swirls along the outer edges and a flower on top.

This pattern uses size 5 needles, circular or double pointed needles, a yarn needle, natural or synthetic fiber for stuffing, 22 yards of black DK weight yarn, 4 yards of grey, 14 yards of white, and 10 yards of purple.

This includes my knitted flower pattern which requires an additional 6 yards of purple or grey yarn and size 3 needles. If you have already purchased the flower pattern or wish to decorate the cake differently, it is possible to buy the cake pattern without the flower pattern.

This pattern requires you to knit, pearl, slip slip knit, slip slip pearl, knit two together, pearl two together, pick up stitches, and carry a second yarn color in back.
