Aimee’s Mitten’s named after my niece.
Fair Isle pattern knitted in the round using 3 double pointed needles. I have designed these for a night class I am delivering in the Shetland islands this winter in my local primary school - a first for me!

They are sized for adult female hand. Mittens look a generous length but they need to be to be comfortable for the wearer and not restrict your fingers.

I have knitted the on 3.75mm needles with the double knitting Shetland wool - 30 sts - 10cm and 30 rows - 10cm - after washing and blocking.

Two 25g Jamieson’s of Shetland double knitting for the main colour and 1 ball of each contrast colour - 4 balls of wool altogether.
The colours used are - MC - Eggshell; CC1 - Blossom; CC2 - Daffodil

I have given two options for the end of the mitten - you can either do a 3 needle bind off OR a Kitchener stitch or as we say here - graft the ends together.
