What am I missing?
Alexander the Baby Elephant
12/22/12 -- Sadly, I must make a minimal fee for my patterns now. I’ve discovered that too many people have been downloading the free pattern, copying it all over the place, even offering it for sale on other sites. I figure the crooks won’t want to pay anything, so this will protect it from further theft. I truly do apologize for being forced into this! I will be trying to get an improved version of the pattern up as soon as possible. Thank you for understanding!
PLEASE NOTE -- this is just a simple text file of instructions -- I’ve been intending to do a better write-up of it, with some photos, etc - but my life has not been too good, so I just haven’t gotten to it yet. I’ll try to get a “better” version of this pattern online as soon as I can - but I’ve had requests for it, since it was offline - so I’m putting the “plain-jane” version back up, just so it will be available.
I designed Alexander in 2007 for a friend who loved elephants, when I couldn’t find an elephant pattern at that time that I really liked. I’d distributed the pattern for a little while on another site I had - but I’ve been wanting to get him over here to Ravelry, so here he is!!!
Alexander is an easy project, he can be made with a variety of different yarns, and he is fairly quick to complete.
He takes roughly 2 oz of regular worsted-weight yarn - yardage might vary depending on what you use.
PDF file will be re-done with more photos soon - but the instructions are easy to follow - the folks who tested the pattern for me had no problems at all. The pattern is just sort of ‘plain’ in appearance without a lot of fancy photos or extras - just straight-forward stitching instructions.
Hope you enjoy stitching him as much as I did!
