The Allium Hat is slightly-tapered and mostly garter, with wisps of buds around it.
You can wear it down, over your ears, or pushed back like a toque.
The stitch pattern shows best in solid or semi-solid colors.

The Allium Hat takes approximately 175yds/160m of yarn:
1 skein worsted, such as Malabrigo Rios, or
1 skein heavy worsted, such as Rowan Pure Wool, shown above
2 skeins light worsted, such as Woolstok
Gauges
22 stitches and 42 rounds = 4”/10cm, in garter stitch, for a finished size of 20”/51cm around, 8½”/22cm deep, worsted.
20 stitches and 40 rounds = 4”/10cm, in garter stitch, for a finished size of 22”/56cm around, 9”/23cm deep, heavy worsted.
23 stitches and 41 rounds = 4”/10cm, in garter stitch, for a finished size of 19”/48cm around, 9½”/24cm deep, light worsted
Depths are all adjustable.
Needles - Gauge needle and needle one size smaller for the cast on.
Samples were all knit with US6 32”/81cm circulars as the gauge needle, using the magic loop method.
Notions: Assorted stitch markers, removable and closed.

The cowl that I’m wearing is Hortensia (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hortensia-7) knit with 2 skeins of Malabrigo Worsted, see notes on my project page.
