Amalia was the Bonus pattern for Sock Madness 8, round 3.

Amalia is the first in a series of three sock patterns, named after Crown Princess Catharina-Amalia of the Netherlands, and her two sisters, Alexia, and Ariane. The cuff and leg patterns are interchangeable: all three feature the same construction of fold-over cuff, star toe and starred afterthought heel.
The socks are knitted outside in, to create smooth ‘princess soles’, without the royal pain of knitting reverse stocking stitch.

Currently there are three files:

  1. General Information and extra pictures.
  2. Amalia
  3. Alexia

The patterns are based on 64 stitches, it includes some notes on adjusting the pattern for other sizes and different heel sizes.
As mentioned above, all three have the same structure. They all have a fold-over cuff and the leg and foot are knitted inside out in stocking stitch. The three cuff and leg patterns are interchangeable.

Amalia has a pointy cuff and heart-shaped lace shapes on the reverse stocking stitch background.
Alexia has a lacy cuff and a beaded diamond pattern on the reverse stocking stitch background.
Ariane is still to come. One day…feel free to send me suggestions.

1sept15 - mistake in Alexia: you don’t need a cable needle, beaded option needs 64 beads.
