Amsonia means Ice Flower. The pictures I found kind of reminded me of the pattern that emerged when I started knitting. It also seems quite appropriate since we have been in the grips of major snow and ice storms for the past few weeks.

This is my first foray back into the designing world in a long time. I took a year off after my Mother passed away. She loved the idea of MKALs so this one is for her!

This is a round pattern that can be used for a shawl, a table topper, or an afghan. You can choose the yarn and needle combination that you like. There are several places integrated into the design that can be used as a jumping off point or even a color change.

I used worsted weight and size 10 needles for a large blanket as my original sample. I also have a fingering weight on size four needles that I’m using to check for my famous “typos”. I used about 1800 yards for the blanket and I have 1600 yards for the smaller version. It would make a beautiful largish doily in a lace weight and size 1-2 needles.

There are no frills in the actual pattern since I really didn’t have a plan in mind when I started. It has charts and written directions and I tried to be as straight forward with both as I could get,

I will release the first clue today, February 15th and will release the rest of the clues each Friday night for the next month-ish. There are five total clues.

Sk2p should be slip 1, knit 2 together, pass slipped stitch over, not skip one.

Row 61 chart is missing the final “A” in last square.
