On a recent trip to Greece I was inspired by the black figure pottery and thought the patterns would make great embellishments for the yoke of a sweater. I found the vase to copy in the Met and created this chart which I am making available for anyone else wishing to don patterns from the 5th century B.C. I used the chart to modify Kate Davies’ Paper Dolls sweater.

Note: If you are using this with the Paper Dolls pattern, the repeat for this chart is 15 stitches rather than 12 so you may need to make some slight adjustments to the stitch count before beginning the chart and then same goes for the end of the chart after the decreases since the design in the top 5 rows is a 5 stitch repeat so you will need a stitch count in a multiple of 5.

This pattern is available for personal use only. Please do not reproduce this chart or use it to make items for profit.
