When I saw BabyLove Brand’s crochet Trellis & chevron blanket in the 2016 GAL all I wanted to do was play with Moroccan Ogees; only in knitting, and without worrying about color.

The self-edged Andalus is knit in one piece. The alternating stockinette and reverse stockinette ”tiles” are shaped by increases and decreases, with a narrow edge of ribbing in between them. The nearly horizontal parts are made with reversible ”Short Row Slides.“ The pattern includes an explanation of the slides, with both written instructions and charts. There are photo tutorials on my blog.

Thanks to Talitha Kuomi, Saxarocks, gannet, picnicknits, pamslu, and Blue-eyedCrafty for advice, the Hess family for photos, Katie, Arabianknits and Beheya for the naming process, and Susanne Visch and Tabitha’s Heart for TE.
