Antares, named for the brightest star in the Scorpio constellation, is a slouch worked from the bottom up. It incorporates a very simple lace pattern that is easy to memorize. It was originally designed for Jimmy Beans Wool, using one skein of Madelinetosh Tosh Merino DK in the exclusive colorway “Scorpio”, dyed as a part of their Toshstrology Collection. The pattern is written for adults or younger children, so whether for yourself or for a loved one, this one skein project is perfect to keep you warm and still look gorgeous!

MATERIALS:

One Skein of Madelinetosh Tosh Merino DK (100% Superwash Merino Wool. 225 yards.): Jimmy Beans Wool Exclusive – Scorpio. (About 165 yards used.)
US 6 16” circ needles and DPNs.
Stitch marker.
Tapestry needle.
Gauge is not truly critical for this project. The pattern as written will fit most young adults.

Read the entire pattern before beginning.

Modifications are written to fit a younger child as well. PLEASE NOTE: The modifications have NOT yet been test knit. They are based on what I measured a child’s hat size to be with some wiggle room.
