The SOUNDBREAKER SHAWL was the first shawl I designed and published myself. It made the way for many more designs, and remains one of my favorite and most fun knits. The original pattern is a good example of my early editing style, which was not very clean. Three years later, I decided to go back and reknit the entire pattern, making corrections, adding detailed directions, and giving the design a major facelift as well!

This loose gauge triangular shawl is knit completely in garter stitch for a simple and fun project. It begins with a simple striped triangle shaped with increases. Along the edges, short rows and more increases in alternating colors expand the wingspan, creating a radiant effect finished off with an I-cord bind off. Choose your three colors and create this soft, drapey wrap!

MATERIALS:
Three skeins (one color each) of Black Trillium Fibres Merilon Sock (75% Superwash Merino/25% Nylon. 425 yards.)
• Color A – Olivine (275 yards used.)
• Color B – Natural (155 yards used.)
• Color C – Inkwell (140 yards used.)
US 6 60” circ needle

GAUGE AND MEASUREMENTS:
84” in wingspan. 21” from top to deepest point.

About 14 sts and 44 rows every 4” in garter stitch, blocked.

Gauge not critical for this project.
