Aplomb, worked from the bottom up, was inspired by the recipient of this hat and of course by the beautiful yarn, as yarn is often of the inspiration behind my designs. The recipient is confident, driven, and strives to reach her goals and I wanted this design to reflect that. By definition, Aplomb is imperturbable self-possession, poise, and assurance – as well as the perpendicular or vertical position.
Not only does it describe the recipient but also the design perfectly.
I love that the stitch pattern is strong but subtle to let the yarn shine as well.

The pattern includes both written and charted instructions.
