These breathtaking animals are highly intelligent, have strong family bonds, sophisticated forms of communication, and complex behavior. I felt honored and humbled as I designed this pattern.

Asian Elephant begins at the bottom of one foot, proceeds up the leg, across the back, and down to the bottom of the opposite leg. Stitches are then picked up along the edge of this piece to work the body.

There are two small humps on the top of the head, a characteristic known to this breed of elephant, and a graceful, inquisitive proboscis. Your elephant will be 11” long and 5” wide when completed.

Learn more about this wonderful animal and 24 others when you read the pages of a naturalist as she travels the world, documenting the animals she sees, and designing knitting patterns for each one. This book was a collaboration with my children who did the artwork.
