Longies pattern knit in the round. The longies are designed to be close fitting in the bum (over a cloth nappy) but wide-legged. Techniques required include increasing, decreasing, and grafting. No short rows are used, so this is a great pattern for a relatively new knitter.

The pattern as written is written for a 40cm circular and a 30cm circular, but those who are comfortable with magic looping should be able to do so comfortably.

Most sizes should be able to be completed without using more than 200g of 8-ply yarn - the largest size may need slightly more (or a ball of contrast yarn) depending on your gauge and child’s measurements.
