Attack of the Killer Rabbits Hat is a slouchy beanie. Very unisex in design, you can make it more masculine or more feminine with your color choices.

Why call it the Attack of the Killer Rabbits? The polka-dots of the slipped stitch pattern look like bunnies, neatly lined up in ranks and I am a Monty Python fan from way back.

The colorwork is arrived at using basic stripes and slipped stitches. You only work one color in each round. This hat would be a good first foray into slipstitch colorwork and/or knitting in the round and/or working magic loop.

Stitches used in the pattern: knitted cast on, k, p, kfb (increase), p2tog (decrease), sl1 wyib (slip 1 purl-wise with yarn in back), knitting in the round. When knitting in the round, you can use the magic loop technique with a long circular needle; or 2 shorter circular needles; or start on a short circular needle and transition to double pointed needles as you work the crown decreases.

Finished circumference when lightly steam blocked is 19 inches (48 cm).

The pattern includes complete abbreviated row-by-row written instructions as well as fully charted directions.
