This is actually a very simple and straight-forward beret design, perfect for those just venturing into working with stitch designs and working on circular needles. It is a surprisingly fast knitting project recommended for a worsted or aran weight yarn.

I used the self-striping Poems by Wisdom Yarns, but any long color changing, self-striping yarn with extended color gradiations (blending between colors) should work just as well. And for the adventurous few, it will work with creating the color striping with different balls of yarn (to do this, I recommend changing the color on the last round/4th round of the pattern stitch group).

The finished beret can be worn either tam-style or slouch-style as shown in the photos.
