Austenland all started with Julia of Pandia’s Jewels. She knew I loved Jane Austen and had already recommended a book called Mr Darcy Takes a Wife (which is very good) so then she recommended the movie Austenland.. Which I also loved. So when I asked Julia to create an exclusive colorway to carry in my shop she sent me Austenland. I knew I had to design a pattern.

The premise of the movie is that the main character loves Mr Darcy and no boyfriend can compare to that. So she decides to go to Austenland theme vacation. She is looking for love. So the front of the sock has a lacy ribbing- to represent the meshing over our more casual attire and the more formal attire of Austen’s time. There is a hugs and kisses cable going up the back of the sock representing the main character’s search for love.

Purchase of eZine includes 7-10 patterns, articles, interviews and much more!
