For all of the Pride and Prejudice fans. I was inspired to create this pattern when I saw the yarn “Elizabeth and Mr Darcy” from Barking Dog Yarns . Their opposite attracts lines are 2 skeins opposite yet complimentary to the other. The top of the foot is a lace pattern of of swirling leaves. When I think of Elizabeth I can hear her saying “I am very fond of walking”. She loved being outdoors- so it had to be a pattern of a naturesque theme. I chose swirling leaves because I also think of swirling dresses when I think of Pride and Prejudice- the balls, the dancing. The back of the leg is adorned with ribbing to represent the formal Mr Darcy.. I added in a opposites attract cable- one side is purl stitches and the other knit stitches and they intertwine up the back of the sock. Like Elizabeth and Mr Darcy- no matter how different they are they realize that they match, they belong together. The sock is knitted from the toe up.
