Pattern description from Weekend Knitting: “This heirloom blanket is sized for a stroller, car seat, or other place where baby needs to be kept warm. The classic plaid looks especially fresh in the unisex yellow, blue, and lime palette. The lining is solid-color Stockinette stitch, which - depending on your mood - could be relaxing or, let’s face it, tedious to knit. If you’d prefer not to knit the lining, buy 3 skeins fewer putty-colored yarn and follow the instructions for sewing on a fabric backing. The accompanying dolly can be completed in a few hours - and enjoyed for years. Her pants are ‘built in,’ but her heart sweater can be taken on and off.”

Finished Measurements: Approximately 27” long by 24” wide / 68.5 by 61 cm

Yarn: Jo Sharp Soho Summer DK (100% cotton; 109 yards / 50 grams). 6 skeins #227 putty; 3 skeins #228 calico (natural); 1 skein each #222 freesia (yellow), #218 cloudless (light blue), and #223 cactus (lime green).

Needles:

  • One set straight needles size US 3 (3.25 mm).
  • One set straight needles size US 6 (4 mm).
  • Change needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Yarn needle, stitch holders, polyester fiberfill for stuffing doll, crochet hook size H (5 mm) or larger for blanket fringe, 3/4 yarn 45” cotton fabric for blanket lining (optional).
