Crochet baby booties pattern for boy & girl. Nice, cute and straightforward pattern . Also great opportunity to explore new stitches in a short period of time. Pattern is divided into clear sections for good readability and includes photo illustrations of the ankle stitch pattern plus more. See the photos to the left for a preview of the format.

Inspiration
I set out to make crochet booties for boys exclusively. It is easy to get carried away with all of those pretty stitches and end up with girly twists, but this time I thought it was time for a change.

These booties were inspired by the look of battlements on top of old castles. I’ve always loved this old simple, yet effective piece of arcitecture and thought it would be fun to try and incorporate it somehow in the design…..as it turned out I couldn’t help myself from grabbing some pink yarn leftovers either and…….farewell idea of boys only pattern.

The two color design is a great opportunity to use up yarn leftovers.

Materials
1.Hook: 2.5 mm 3 mm, 3,5 mm (US 4/ E), 4 mm (US G6)

  1. Aran / 10 ply (8 wpi) weight yarn. I used Big fabel/ Garnstudio
  2. Stitch markers (or use scrap yarn) are important for this pattern

Yardage
Max. 164 yards (150 meters) of yarn in total ~ 109 yards(100 meters) of Color A and 55 yards (50 meters) of Color B.

I used different kinds of scrap or one skein yarns and I liked it best where color A were slightly denser than color B (used for the pink and the black booties in picture). You will need less yarn for the other sizese

Size
0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-9 month , 9-12 months, 12-15
